Responsive - Concept and pattern

After Richelle spoke to her tutor, she filled me on in the feedback he gave her.

He said that we need a a more formed concept, as we'd been looking at italian patterns he said to look at Futurism which originated in Italy and would be a better consept of inspiration that just Italian patterns.

We looked at this movment and found some images which lead us to simplier Italian patterns but were more on a modern term, as he'd also said what we were designing looked too wedding-y.

Some of the paintings reminded me of pop up paper art, which would be something different to add to our ticket to make it more of an art piece, but whether this is the route we plan to go down, I'm not sure. I'll try and do some tests to see if it could work as an informative sculpture.

Taking the futurism art into a simple pattern, I explored more Italian patterns but taking the geometric look that me and Richelle both liked from the art movement.

I began to design some geometric patterns, and took colour influence and shapes from the futurism movement, and Italian patterns I had found.

In Illustator I created shapes and to make life easlier for me, duplicated and roted the shapes into the position I wanted to make up the patters I had sketched.

I played around a lot with the colours, taking inspiration from the futurism movement, and came up with these.

We'd talked about using foiling to add colour to the design, and I think combing foiling and cut out it could really work to create something informative but not a boring leaflet.

I'm going to begin now to test these deigns as cut out and maybe do some quillings of the patterns too, to see how different techniques work.
