ParaNorman - armatures

For the model making workshop, I look at some ways of creating puppets. I particularly like this time lapse for making Norman from the Laika film ParaNorman. it shows the process from sketch right through to final puppet. This armature is a lot more complicated that the wire armature we created, it allows for more realistic movements and sturdiness. The body is made from liquid latex, which will be a lot less wearable and will last longer than the foam. The hands and feet are made separate, I assume this so they can easily be replaced if they are damages. The head is also separate, as the facial expressions and eyes are clipped on and replaced to make them move in the film.
